I feel a little like I’m planning an engagement party rather than a birthday party, but I love it!

I get off to planning.

My sweet and amazing boyfriend has forced me to let him make the cake (he’s actually an amazing baker, I just get possesive and want to do it all myself).

These little babies are what I’m using as inspiration.

While making the Gingerbread tree I had some leftover snowflakes so I wrapped them up as a hostess gift for the second Christmas party we were going to that night.

Being the ever on time girl that I am the not quite set icing got a touch smushed but the cookies were delish!

Check out the recipe from the December issue of Chatelaine

This is my attempt at the cookie tree on the cover of Chatelaine December 2011.

I failed and forgot to take a pic with the finished sugar and the other tiers but those bad boys on the bottom were hand cut bc I couldn’t find the tree cookie cutter kit :S

Attempt #2 of the tree and many other adventures in Christmas cookie baking to come!
